Poster Design for the competition of Open House 2024
The poster depicts a door with an eye inside of it and an eyebrow above. The door is surrounded by retro style beams pointing at it.
The idea behind has a significant duality, greatly inspired by the theory and philosophy of space and architecture:
-It depicts the door and the eye as if they are one inseparable living organism.
-It is as if the eye is looking inside the door the same way people are visiting the significant buildings of a city during this festival.
Architecture and space around us define us in subtle ways and it is common in literature as well as in music to compare ourselves with houses, walls or other parts of infrastructure and use them to describe ourselves on an existential level.
The retro beams –in contrast with the more contemporary approach of the door-eye– confer the historicity and continuity of architecture upon the poster. Its relationship with humanity is present yet it expands far away in the past and it will be acting similarly at the future.
The colors used are partially following the colors of the two logos but they are also adjust into the current trends of graphic design.
